How it works
How a decision brief is made
Five steps from a hard question to a documented answer you can act on.
1. Your question
You describe the decision in plain words: the business, the deal or the plan, what's at stake and the deadline.
2. The facts
The brief gathers what's known about your situation, your market and comparable situations, and keeps track of where each fact came from.
3. The analysis
The BK-OS method works through the decision in layers: what's true now, the realistic options, how to carry them out, and how you'll measure whether it's working.
4. The checks
Anything that can't be backed up is marked for checking instead of presented as fact. Numbers are shown as estimates with their assumptions, never as guarantees.
5. Your brief
You get a plain-English report: the recommendation, the risks, what would change the answer and a step-by-step plan. You can save it, print it or come back to it later.
A brief supports your decision; it isn't legal, tax or investment advice. Have your own professionals review anything consequential.
